Personal Style Project

Personal Style Project

Personal Style Project Description

For my Personal Style Project, I focused on Portrait Lifestyle Photography. I planned four photoshoots. The first one was a college
graduate photoshoot. The second one was a photoshoot of a couple. The last two were two models with a specific style.

Each photo shoot was about 2-3 hours, with the editing process, print design, the project took me about 20-25 hours. The
resources I used were Luminar 4, a diffuser, and a reflector.

I  produced 4 new blog posts and delivered 6 photos in each blog post. In the original plan, I said I was going to produce 12 pictures total, but I decided to do more and I produced 24 pictures in total. Click on the blue button below and check out the next photoshoots! Below you can see the mockup of my brochure I did with the images from this project, and you can also see the first photoshoot.

Portfolio Blog Post – My Personal Style

My goal is that in my portfolio blog post and always my art represents emotions and feelings though, colors, highlights, and shadows. Four of my favorite photography styles are Landscape, Portrait, Commercial, and Creative. I enjoy doing Landscape photography because it helps me appreciate the world we live in. Sometimes I am so busy I do not notice a beautiful sunset. So, capturing Landscape pictures helps me feel gratitude. Portrait photography is magical. To be able to capture emotions and important life events is priceless. Lastly, I decided to add Commercial and Creative photography to my portfolio blog post because these styles, help me expand my imagination and perspective of the objects that surround me.

Personal Style Project- Man Fall photoshoot

Man Fall Photoshoot

Man fall photoshoot

This man fall photo shoot was very fun. The spirit of the model was very happy so that is what I tried to capture in these man fall photoshoot. I used natural light in these pictures. These pictures took place at the Ricks Garden. I used Luminar 4 to edit this man fall photoshoot. Also,  posing a man was very different than posing a woman, which was a learning experience for me. I asked my model to wear a white hoodie to give the pictures a specific style and create contrast with the background.

This fall couple photoshoot was like a dream with the sun and the fall colors. I asked my models to dress up in black, maroon, and blue tones. I think those colors contrast well with the brown, green, and red fall colors. I used Luminar 4 to add my personal style to this fall couple photoshoot. This photoshoot took place at the Ricks Garden and also at an apple garden. I took these pictures at the golden hour which created a romantic vibe. I used natural light for this fall couple photoshoot.

This woman’s graduation photoshoot took place at the BYU Idaho campus. For this photoshoot, I asked my model to wear a light color for her dress to create contrast with the graduation gown. I edited these pictures in Luminar 4 to add my personal style. For these pictures, I used a reflector to expose the main subject and balance the light. It was very fun to do this woman graduation photoshoot and my model did a great job portraying happiness and power.

Fall Colors are my favorite, and I was lucky to find fall colors for this photoshoot. In this photoshoot, I asked my model to wear a white sweater and dark pants to create contrast in her outfit. Also fall colors such as red, brown, and green have good contrast with white. For this photoshoot, I had an assistant that helped me with the reflector. This fall woman photoshoot was with natural light and the place where I took the pictures is Ricks Garden in Rexburg Idaho. I used Luminar 4 to edit this fall woman photoshoot.

Rexburg Park Landscape

Rexburg Park Landscape

Rexburg Park Landscape

I had the opportunity to discover this beautiful park in Rexburg Idaho. One of my favorite aspects of taking Rexburg park landscape pictures.   was that it has fall colors and it has snow as well. So combining two seasons in this photoshoot was very fun. To capture the different highlights and shadows in these Rexburg park landscape pictures I used the bracketing technique. I edited these pictures in Luminar 4 and Photoshop. These pictures were captured during Golden Hour and I was lucky to have a little bit of sunlight during this wintertime in Rexburg.

Landscape wildlife photography part 2 picture was taken in  Grand Teton National Park.  In this excursion, we found some buffalos but they were far so I decided to take a picture of buffalos as a landscape photo. I used a wide lens to capture the mountains and lake details.  For these pictures, I used the bracketing technique to capture three different exposures. I used Aurora HDR to merge the landscape wildlife images. I used Luminar 4 to edit the pictures and add contrast and details texture.

Fashion Accessories

Fashion Accessories photos remind me of macro photography because it feels like I am discovering a new world. I definitely used artificial light to expose my pictures correctly. I also added a Steve Madden logo to one of my pictures to make it look like it belongs to that brand. Fashion accessories have amazing textures for pictures and the colors these objects have to make images interesting, it reminds of why advertising adds add specific colors and filters for clients to buy their products. Fashion accessories photography was definitely of my favorite projects.
